With great success, we organized the 3rd Halkidiki Gastronomy Festival,
known as the TASTE HALKIDIKI FESTIVAL on the pedestrian street of Polygyros, in
the Municipality of Polygyros. The event formed part of the TASTE HALKIDIKI
initiative, dedicated to showcasing the culinary richness of the region. This
program, which has been planned and implemented since 2021, is a collaborative
effort with Halkidiki Chamber.
On the pedestrian street of Polygyros, local producers of olives, olive oil, honey, pasta, wines, beer, spirits, nuts and black pig from all over Halkidiki, presented their products to the visitors, who had the opportunity to be informed, to taste, and also to buy the unique treasures of Halkidiki.
In the specially designed cooking area, the chefs from the renowned restaurants of the area and the women’s associations, prepared live tasty creations based on local recipes and products of the exhibitors. The recipes were presented by the experienced host Kostis Zafeirakis and the dishes were:
-Traditional Klikia, by Polygyros Community Development Women’s Voluntary Group.
-Chicken with grapes, by Penelope Manassi, Exi Vrises restaurant.
-Millet with potatoes and bianco sauce, by Bilal Doka, Marigoula Restaurant.
-Polygyros sfungato, by Polygyros Women’s Gathering and Entertainment Association.
-Black pig with black olives and mushrooms, by Yiannis Adamiotis, BrokenCup, who also represented the Association of Culinary Professionals of Greece.
-Cream and pasteli with local products, by Kyriaki Andreadi, Sweet Garden Andreadi Patisserie
The event was attended by a large number of people from Polygyros and
the surrounding areas, as well as many visitors, who had the opportunity to
taste the delicious dishes with the help of the volunteers of the Polygyros
Women’s Association that supported the event.
Sponsors of the event were the Millennium Education Center, which with a
lot of experience and specialized staff,
broadcasted the event live on-site and on social media platforms, as well as
Doumbia SA, which provided the water for the event. Communication sponsors of
the event were ERT3 and radio stations FM 102 and 95.8.
